Coach Daly Co-Founder & Head Coach, Hills Fencing Institute (H3) Coach Dennis Daly began his fencing journey in 1977 at “Tuesday Night Fencing” at the Centereach Pool, trailing his older brother, Richard, and later fencing for the Centereach High School team under Coach Bob Nelson. Since then, he has dedicated over 35 years to coaching and developing fencing programs and athletes across Long Island. Coaching Experience:
At Garden City HS, Coach Daly led a co-ed foil team to four County Championships and League Titles. Beyond his own team, he played a pivotal role in developing women’s fencing across Long Island, founding eight new programs and advocating for the inclusion of epee and sabre at the high school level. He was a key architect behind the creation of the Long Island Championship and the Section VIII vs Section XI Senior Classic. In 2006, he founded the Half Hollow Hills HS Men’s and Women’s Fencing Team, helping to grow fencing in Suffolk County. Under his guidance, the team quickly became a local powerhouse. Mentorship & Legacy: Daly has mentored many athletes who have gone on to coach in Sections VIII and XI, as well as at the club level. He’s trained numerous county champions, finalists, and All-Long Island fencers across all three weapons: epee, foil, and sabre. Accolades & Contributions:

Weapons: Épée and Sabre Role: Head of the H3 Internship Program With nearly two decades of fencing experience, Coach Conor Daly brings a competitive edge and a deep passion for athlete development. As a former standout competitor, Conor was named Suffolk County Honorable Mention in 2015 and earned First Team honors in 2016, finishing 3rd in the county that season. His competitive success extended to the national stage, where he claimed a silver medal at a North American Cup (NAC). Now in his third year of coaching, Conor has already made a significant impact:
