Kevin Gordon
Foil/Epee Coach
Kevin began fencing in 8th grade as a member of the Centereach HS fencing team. He was a 4 year varsity member training under coach Herb Mones and the recipient of the first James Nelson Hero Award. During this time he was an active member of Long Island Fencing Club. During college he began helping train fencers on his old high school team and the coaching bug took hold. After graduating from SUNY Oswego he began coaching high school teams. He coached Centereach HS from 2006-2008 and then moved to the fledgling Half Hollow Hills Program. Together with Coach Dennis Daly, they built a perennially strong high school team, earning numerous team and individual medals including a Boys County Championship in 2016. In 2017 he was named Suffolk County Boys Coach of the Year. He has coached numerous athletes to individual county finals and All County honors. Since 2008 he has been a part of Hills Fencing Institute coaching foil and epee, helping fencers to succeed in their athletic endeavors in both high school and college.
